Today on the blog is the most EPIC wedding ever!!!! Meet Jesse and Holly, Mr. & Mrs. Norris. Two 25 year olds from Provo (practically ancient in that neck of the woods) that have officially started the best journey of their lives! Jesse and Holly met at a LDS ward get together, Holli was hitting on Jesse pretty hard. She even said at one point that night, “I could kiss you on the mouth” (not knowing he had just gotten out of a eight month relationship…oops). Later that week Holly called Jesse to make a joke about their favorite baseball teams and the feelings started to become mutual. He even drove all of the way to Provo from Salt Lake City to pick her up for a date at the Red Butte Gardens in Salt Lake and then dropped her off all the way in Provo after the date. Talk about serious dedication! They had casually planned a trip to Disneyland with some of their friends and everyone ending up bailing. So naturally Holli invited her mom and sister, there’s no better place to meet your future in laws than Disneyland! These two were quickly falling in love and everyone knew it, but them.
It wasn’t until Holly missed the front-runner and got back into Jesse’s car and said, “listen, when are you going to tell me you love me because I KNOW you do.” and they’ve said I love you everyday since. After Christmas break Holly took Jesse to her favorite lookout spot against the mountains in Provo. It’s where her room mates grandma used to live. It was there that Jesse got down on one knee and asked Holly to marry him. They had to hurry out after the proposal, because that grandma had moved and they were now in some stranger’s backyard.
“After meeting each other we both decided we’d wait another 1000 years for the other one. He is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me!” -Holly
Now for the EPIC wedding details…
Jesse and Holly were originally supposed to get married on the 21st of May in the temple (but you know, Rona). So they decided to wait things out until May was over to see what coronageddon was like then., BUT Holly had the best idea yet! She started planning their surprise wedding of a lifetime. Holly came up with the entire plan and arranged for all of their friends and family to gather at the White Shanty building for the wedding. Jesse’s birthday was that Tuesday, but they agreed to wait and celebrate Friday. So on Friday the day started with a scavenger hunt, at one of the stops Jesse was instructed to put on his suit. He thought he was onto her then and the scavenger hunt would end up a beautiful location where they would have professional photos taken. At the last stop, Jesse was blindfolded and led to Holly where he took off the blindfold and saw his beautiful bride standing there in her gorgeous wedding dress. He was completely shocked and super confused.
After explaining that the end of the scavenger would end with her taking his last name, she led him down the aisle, where Holly’s dad was waiting as the officiant to marry them. After the ceremony, everyone mingled while we went outside to take some pictures. Then everyone enjoyed some donuts and diet coke (Holly gets extra points for the delicious treats). As if the surprise wedding wasn’t the best experience of my life, these two had the coolest wedding exit with biodegradable confetti bombs. Holly even had their honeymoon all set up at the Anniversary Inn and then a cabin in the mountains for a couple days. They’re planning to have a bigger reception when everything slows down. I am SO beyond grateful that I got to be a part of this wonderful wedding!
Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Norris!
