Engagement Photo Session At Tibble Fork Reservoir | The Smouts

Tibble Fork Reservoir in American Fork Canyon is one of our favorite photo spots in Utah. And it happens to also be one of the most popular photo locations! In fact, we sometimes have more than one photoshoot in the same night at this gorgeous spot. That’s exactly what happened with this engagement photo session at Tibble Fork Reservoir!

Sam and Sam (soon to be Mr. and Mrs. Smout) met on a blind date that was set up by one of his old mission companions and one of her friends. They thought it would be funny to set up a boy and a girl both named Sam! They went swing dancing and hit it off immediately. Of course, it helps that they are both obsessed with chocolate.

After just six weeks of dating, Sam (Mrs. Smout) freaked Sam out when she told him she loved him. But apparently he wasn’t too freaked out, because their beautiful love story continued and they got engaged on March 28, 2020. Sam (Mr. Smout) recreated some of their picnic dates they had gone on when they were first dating. He even wore the outfit from the night that they met on their blind date. Sam and Sam are getting married in the Ogden, Utah Temple this coming August.

Amelia did an incredible job with these photos and loved finding things in common with them (like a love for “the Office”). She was especially grateful that they were willing to take off their shoes, roll up their pants, and get their feet wet. It made for some gorgeous pictures in this engagement photo session at Tibble Fork Reservoir!
