I had the BEST time with this cute family! I got to capture the legacy of Katie and Vern Evans. Auvi and Richard Lloyd are good friends of Tasha’s and just celebrated their 3rd wedding anniversary. Auvi reached out to see if Tasha would do family pictures for them, but Tasha had an emergency come up last minute and I got to fill in. I’m still smiling over this session and this cute family. We did this family session at Squaw Peak trail and it was perfect! The Evans family were all troopers, climbing (and packing children) up a steep hill to get to the perfect spot.
One of the Evans boys, Connor, just returned home from serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, so they were all excited to get some fresh family pictures taken. There were so many sweet moments at this session. Tatum (4), who introduced himself to me as “chicken Douglas” got to hold his baby cousin Leo for the very FIRST time and he was so still and gentle. He had waited forever for this moment and was so excited. Katie and Verns love for each other was so apparent. You could see the happiness and love this couple has created over the years.
I learned a couple of things during this session. First, a whistle might get a dog’s attention, but you can’t always get a kids attention with a whistle. It sometimes requires more such as singing and dancing behind the camera. “Chicken Douglas” was even promised some candy and pop for being so good during our session. Second, when there’s two Katie’s in one family, assign each of them a nickname to lessen the confusion. I’m so glad I got to meet this cute family, I had the best time!
