I met Jessa, owner of Lennox Flora last year at a bridal photo-shoot and absolutely fell in love with her work! Jessa has such an eye for floristry! I’ve loved getting to know her over the past year, not only does Jessa have such a fun, happy personality, her passion for what she does truly shines in her and throughout her work! Lennox Flora is and will continue to be my go-to florist! I’ve hired her for multiple projects and now when I come to her I simply tell her my vision and let her creativity take over the rest and she ALWAYS creates something even more spectacular than I envisioned or  found on Pinterest! Trust me, you won’t regret choosing to work with Lennox Flora for your wedding day. I asked Jessa to give me all of her best advice about choosing a florist and what florals you may need…

Hey there I’m Jessa, the owner and head florist at Lennox Flora! I’ve been designing with flowers for the past 4 years and started my business at the beginning of 2019. Since then, I’ve worked with many brides in bringing their dream wedding florals to life. Aside from playing with flowers, I enjoy reading, hiking, organizing, cooking, and spending time with my loved ones. One of my favorite things about this job is the opportunity to watch my art bring joy to others. My passion for flowers started when I was a child and will continue, I’m confident, for the rest of my life!

With social media, word of mouth, and Utah Valley’s booming wedding industry, you have a large selection of qualified and capable florists to choose from. Select a florist that’s the right fit for you. Of course, personality and prices are helpful to take into account; but it’s important to find a florist whose style you love and trust.

Recreating a Pinterest photo is actually quite difficult. In my opinion, it sort of feels like plagiarizing someone else’s piece of work, and it takes more design time and labor when creating something outside the natural flow of creativity and style. Use Pinterest photos for inspiration not replication. Pinpoint all of the little details you love in each picture, and select a florist you TRUST to put all those individual elements together into a piece of art that is unique to you. This way you’re guaranteed to be happy with the final products! The point I’m getting at is choose a florist whose work you admire and trust. If there’s a florist you’re really hoping to hire, book them as soon as possible, the popular ones get booked up fast.

2. Set Aside a Generous Budget

I stumbled across a poll by Sleepy Ridge Weddings that concluded 75% of brides spent more money on their flowers than their wedding dress. You may be surprised, but that’s realistic!

You can’t find high wedding quality flowers at a local grocery store. These flowers are of the highest quality and most trending colors grown specifically for fancy events. They’ve been shipped from all over the world at top speed, while staying hydrated and fresh so they’ll be gorgeous for your wedding day. That’s not a cheap price to pay! Not to mention the design fees, labor time, overhead costs (such as studio space, coolers, design equipment, etc.), taxes and other costs that come with running a business.

We florists live for this stuff! You’re not paying us to throw together a bundle of flowers and call it good. You’re investing in a unique piece of art that belongs to you and only you. We spend great lengths of time hand-selecting each variety to perfectly compliment and accentuate your color scheme. We are intentional with the placement of EVERY bloom to achieve your wedding dreams and vision. We’re here to create something with you, for you, and unique to only you!

Keep in mind, finding the lowest price doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll get the highest quality. Cheaper isn’t always better, as with most things, you get what you pay for. Splurging to hire a professional wedding florist will ensure all of your flowers are just as magical and top-notch as the rest of your beautiful day.Utah Wedding Florist, tips on wedding florals, Lennox Flora, Utah wedding photographer, Photography by Tasha RoseUtah Wedding Florist, tips on wedding florals, Lennox Flora, Utah wedding photographer, Photography by Tasha RoseUtah Wedding Florist, tips on wedding florals, Lennox Flora, Utah wedding photographer, Photography by Tasha Rose3. Prioritize your Wants & Needs
When it comes to florals, there’s a lot of potential products you could include in your special day. Depending on your budget, you may need to prioritize which floral products are the most important to you. How important is your bridal bouquet? Would you rather purchase flowers for the bridal party or for your family members? Would you prefer ceremony or reception florals? Asking questions like these can help you determine where to cut costs.

4. Bring your Ideas to the Table

We love being creative together! Share everything that a florist could take into account when designing your products such as wedding theme, style, colors, inspo pics, etc. We’re all here to help you create something magical! When it comes to flower inspiration, pay attention to things like color ratios, greenery to flower ratios, shape, size, tightness or looseness, ribbon, types of flowers, ANY and ALL details will be helpful in designing your bouquet and other floral products.
